Part 1 of 3 · Everyday practice
When worry keeps circling
You have rehearsed the same ‘what if’ several times, but you do not know any more than when you started.
Action or another lap?
Ask whether there is something useful you can do now. If so, choose a small step. If not, briefly note the concern and choose a later time to consider it, rather than answering it again all day.
Return without a fight
You are not banning a thought. When it returns, acknowledge it and gently return attention to the activity in front of you. If postponing worry makes things harder, leave this exercise and seek support instead.
What it looks like
Before a family visit, Jules keeps guessing what everyone will think. They write the concern down, confirm the travel time, and return to making lunch. Certainty about the visit is not available yet.
Try it now
Notice one recurring concern. Is there a practical action, or are you searching for certainty? Choose a next activity. Do not postpone an urgent safety issue or a time-sensitive responsibility.
This is skills education, not a substitute for professional care. You can pause any exercise. Need support?
